Each pill sold under the Modalert or Modvigil brand name contains 200 mg of pure Modafinil. We insist that 200 mg is too high for the new user, so we recommend that the new Modafinil user break the tablet half.
The 100 mg dose should be sufficient for the new user to evoke the desired state of focus and attention. Long-term users will achieve the best results at a typical 200 mg dose. We strongly recommend avoiding daily doses in excess of 300 mg.
It is crucial that one understands how his body responds to this product and what is its tolerance boundary. The effects of Modalert will begin one hour after the use and will have the most significant impact over the next 6-8 hours.
New users: 100 mg daily. It is recommended to take medicine one hour before the planned activity.
Users suffering from narcolepsy or sleep apnea: The 200 mg dose per day should maintain problems “under control.”
Users who suffer from shift work disorder: Dose 200 mg ideally for one hour before starting work.
We strongly urge all users not to exceed the prescribed dose of 400 mg or two tablets a day.
The recommended daily dose for Armodafinil is 150 mg and should be taken once a day in the morning or at least in the afternoon with a glass of water. The exception is users with a shift work disorder who should take this medicine about an hour before starting work.
The 300 mg single dose or 150 mg twice daily dose was validated in the tests as well tolerated. While some people have seen better results at an increased dose, others have said they did not feel any additional benefits compared to the recommended 150 mg dose.
Armodafinil is a non-addictive substance, and the risk of undesirable effects is minimal.
Clinical trials, which included higher doses over an extended period, did not show any health damages. There are no recorded cases of overdosage.
Modafinil is generally considered one of the most effective psychostimulants, partly because it does not cause any severe side effects. Even though the number of people who have experienced side effects is very low, you still need to be careful. This is especially true for people who are taking Modafinil or Armodafinil for the first time. In this case, the drug may cause an allergic reaction. It should also be noted that if your doctor prescribes Modafinil, he is of the opinion that the benefits of taking this medicine significantly outweigh the potential side effects.
The most common side effects with this medicine may include anxiety, dizziness, headache, nausea, and sleep disturbances. If any of these symptoms occur with you for a long time, consult your GP. There are several more serious, though rare, side effects that include mental and/or mood swings, restlessness, confusion, depression, hallucinations, or misleading thoughts in a different form.
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call emergency immediately - fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain or any sign of infection such as fever or swollen throat.
Several cases of allergic reactions have been reported, which may include (inter alia) blistering or swelling of the skin, itching or swelling (especially in the area of the face, tongue, and throat), skin rashes, dizziness or difficulty in breathing. In consultation with a doctor, it is essential to keep him informed of all previous or ongoing illnesses that may affect your blood pressure, liver and heart problems, kidney disease, or any mental disorder. You should also inform your doctor about drug or alcohol addiction.
Before using Modafinil, it is essential to tell your doctor about all other medication (whether prescription or non-prescription) and herbal dietary supplements you are currently taking to avoid side effects. It is also important to remember if you are taking any blood pressure lowering medicines (including beta blockers), anticoagulants such as warfarin, and drugs that could affect liver enzyme activity (i.e., medications that can accelerate the process of excretion of medicines from your body) such as rifabutin and phenobarbital.
There is a chance that Modafinil may accelerate or slow down liver enzymes, helping to excrete other drugs from the body. For some antidepressants, it can weaken their effects. In particular, IMAO (anti-depressant monoamine oxidase inhibitors) do not work well with Modafinil. It is advisable not to take them two weeks before, after and while taking Modafinil. You avoid such a serious problem.
Modafinil may suppress the effectiveness of hormonal contraception (contraceptive pill, patch or ring). During use of Modafinil (and month after last use), we recommend that you use a different form of contraception to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Also, prevent the use of anti-coagulants containing ingredients such as pseudoephedrine or coagulants, which can lead to an increased heartbeat and higher blood pressure. The same effect in interacting with Modafinil will also be the acceptance of a higher dose of caffeine.
